The user ID part of the IP address will stay the same, only the final character might change. All Rizon servers allow TLS connections on ports 6697 and 9999. You are only allowed to have one account. If you are caught having multiple, they will all be removed. Multiple networks can be added to a single account.
- You can connect securely to Rizon by setting your client to connect to irc.rizon.net with either port 6697 or port 9999.

If you’re not, then you typed your user and/or password incorrectly, or you went to the incorrect server. You can get several error messages after you tried to request a RizonBNC account. You can follow these instructions if you get those errors. Instead of connecting to Rizon IRC, you connect to RizonBNC bouncer. Your RizonBNC account will be removed if a rule is broken.
Rules
Please make sure to connect with SSL (Tick the SSL box, or add a plus sign in front of the port for a lot of IRC clients). In case you don’t have SSL available, you can use port 8181 instead. By default the PTR/rDNS of the user is username.powered.by.lunarbnc.net. However, LunarBNC allows the use of vhosts if the user has donated.
Verify if TLS is in use
One of Rizon’s core values is to encourage channel owners to take charge of their own channels. This philosophy has resulted in a very small rule set, and a no-censorship policy. In the case of outages, Rizon maintains a status/outages twitter to clearly communicate with the userbase what the issue is, and how long it will take to resolve. Please send an email to and ask for a password reset, or provide a password you want to be set. Make sure to provide your username and send the email from the account that you registered with to verify that you are the owner.
These various communities have resulted in Rizon being one of the few major networks that is healthy and growing. Please login on [1] with your username and password and go to “YourSettings” in the navigation rizon bnc sidebar. Here you can change several things regarding to your account. This most likely means you are connecting without SSL to a port that only accepts SSL connections (Port 8080 in LunarBNC’s case).

RizonBNC FAQ
Rizon is one of the largest growing IRC networks, and has existed for almost 10 years. All servers except Pi have at least a /64 for use. The owner of this service is always right and can do with it as he pleases. Staff can always disable/remove an account at will if they see reason to do so. Logging can be enabled by administrators to check for abuse. These logs will be handled with discretion.

Rizon BNC FAQ
Channels can be set to only allow users that are connected using a secure connection. This can be enabled by setting the channel mode +S. You can connect securely to Rizon by setting your client to connect to irc.rizon.net with either port 6697 or port 9999. Client-specific instructions are listed below for your convenience. Rizon develops and maintains a number of in-house tools, including its own IRCd, heavily-modified Anope services, psuedoserver, qwebirc fork, and various other network management tools. These tools are almost all open-sourced, and can be found on Rizon’s Code Repository.
Rizon often coordinates with its very large subcommunities to develop new reliable & enjoyable services for its users. The cost to use any of these vhosts (including using your own domain) will be €1/month or €6/year. If your account gets removed for inactivity, you can send an email to have it activated again. Additionally, if you don’t log in for 14+ days, your account will be deleted for inactivity.

You may need to reconnect your client to activate the new settings. You can do this by typing /znc jump after connecting to your ZNC. More recently, the online games eRepublik and e-Sim have made Rizon their home, providing a major user boost.
You can use this bouncer module, which automatically identifies you with NickServ, in case RizonBNC loses connection to Rizon IRC network and you rejoin with GuestXXXXX. Rizon offers this service for FREE, but the bouncer can only be connected to Rizon, not other networks. TLS can be used via Mibbit by clicking on the Server link on the connection dialogue, and by using +6697 as the port. OpenSSL added support for TLS v1.2 to version 1.0.1 back in 2012, make sure your client is up to date for the most secure chatting experience. TLS (Transport Layer Security), previously known as SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), is a method of encrypting your communications so that other parties cannot tamper with or read your messages.
